2012 Trans-Atlantic Cruises

The complete 2012 Transatlantic cruise calendar is now online at CruiseTransatlantic.com. The ocean crossing cruises are scheduled for every month except February. The busiest months are April/May when ships reposition from the Caribbean to Europe, and October/November when they move back to the Caribbean. A Transatlantic cruise is the comfortable way to cross the Atlantic and they're usually cheaper than round-trip cruises too.

This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

The Bellagio in Las Vegas is spending $70 million to redesign over 2,500 guest rooms in the hotel's main tower.  Their Resort King Rooms and Resort Queen Rooms are getting distinct designs, including benches at the foot of beds, brighter lighting and a full-length mirror.  Improved amenities include a 40" HDTV, iHome docking station and a laptop safe in one of the nightstands.  The remodeling effort is scheduled to be completed by mid-December.

 

The Sheraton Stamford is now open for travelers to that Connecticut exurb of New York City.  Formerly a Holiday Inn, big bucks were spent upgrading it to the latest-and-greatest Sheraton standards.  Convenient for all the corporate headquarters in Stamford.
