"Wave Season" is a time from January to March when many cruises are booked and the cruise lines offer good deals. Norwegian Cruise Line started Wave Season early this year with a "Take it to the Next Level" sale beginning in December. Get a free balcony upgrade on any ship to any destination. You'll also receive $400 in e-coupons that you can use onboard for spa treatments, time on the internet, or free dinner at one of the ship's specialty restaurants. Norwegian's most famous ship is the gigantic Epic, which sails out of Miami.

This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

The folks behind the new Home2 Suites by Hilton Charleston Airport/Convention Center didn't waste any time: only seven months from breaking ground to opening for business.  The 122 room extended-stay hotel is on the north side of North Charleston, South Carolina, just a couple of blocks from the airport and the intersection of I-26 and I-526. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner plant is about 5 minutes from the hotel's front door.

Calling itself a "luxury boutique" hotel, the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown is now open on the north side of downtown Atlanta.  Formerly the Hotel Palomar, the new 4-star Renaissance has 287 guest rooms and 17 suites, the 4,445 square foot High Ballroom and a 442 gallon salt water aquarium in the lobby.
