Pink Palace of the Pacific

The 5-star Royal Hawaiian Waikiki is now offering a new level of beachfront luxury after the completion of a $70 million renovation project.  The hotel's "Historic Wing" got an upgrade in 2009 and now the rooms in the "Royal Beach Tower" have been completely redone with new beach and island-themed furnishings.  The Royal Hawaiian is the ultimate Honolulu luxury hotel.

Food Network Cruise

The Food Network is teaming with Celebrity Cruises for a special "Food Network at Sea" voyage. The new Celebrity Silhouette's 11-day Transatlantic cruise from Rome to New York departs October 22. The package includes exclusive VIP culinary demonstrations led by Anne Burrell (host of Food Network's "Worst Cooks in America" and "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef"), Lounge, pier-side check-in, private parties, and turndown gifts. Learn more about all of Celebrity's Transatlantic cruises.

This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

The Sleep Inn Chattanooga gets the honor of being the first Sleep Inn to be converted to the brand's new "design aesthetic".  That means a new lobby, renovated breakfast area and refurbished guest rooms - with bright accent walls, new bedding and photographic artwork.  The changes will quickly spread to Sleep Inns across the U.S.

The Four Points by Sheraton at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is now offering "24 Hour Check-In/Check-Out".  Book your room, then call them 48 hours before you arrive to let them know when you want to check in.  They'll take care of you, regardless of the time, and the room is yours for 24 hours.  Great for matching your flight's itinerary and no more rushing to beat a fixed check-out time.  A pretty interesting and innovative idea in the competitive market of hotels near LAX.
