Sheraton Shapes Up

In 2007 Sheraton began a massive $6 billion upgrade program for its hotels.  That's not something that happens overnight, but they've now reached the half-way point, with 103 of their 202 hotels in North America looking better than ever after renovations.  They've also dumped 41 properties from the brand that were no longer up to standards.  You can find guaranteed best rates at over 500 Sheraton hotels worldwide at TheRealPlaces.com.

Crystal Cruises Goes All In(clusive)

Effective spring 2012, cruises on the Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity will include complimentary fine wines and premium spirits throughout the ship, open bar service in all lounges, and pre-paid gratuities for the ship's staff. The cruise line wants to make your experience onboard easier and more fun by eliminating additional transactions. Also included with all cruises is free round-trip air transportation from 24 North American gateways (or a generous air credit), with airport/ship transfers included. Learn more about Crystal's award-winning cruises from Los Angeles, New York and Miami.

This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

The Sleep Inn Chattanooga gets the honor of being the first Sleep Inn to be converted to the brand's new "design aesthetic".  That means a new lobby, renovated breakfast area and refurbished guest rooms - with bright accent walls, new bedding and photographic artwork.  The changes will quickly spread to Sleep Inns across the U.S.

The Four Points by Sheraton at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is now offering "24 Hour Check-In/Check-Out".  Book your room, then call them 48 hours before you arrive to let them know when you want to check in.  They'll take care of you, regardless of the time, and the room is yours for 24 hours.  Great for matching your flight's itinerary and no more rushing to beat a fixed check-out time.  A pretty interesting and innovative idea in the competitive market of hotels near LAX.
