#100 for Carnival

Carnival Corporation, parent company of Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Cunard and several other lines, took delivery of their 100th ship this week.  To be called "Carnival Magic", the 3,690 passenger vessel will spend a few months cruising the Mediterranean before heading to its new year-round home in Galveston, Texas.  If you happen to be one of the 227,000+ guests aboard a Carnival Corp. ship today (April 29th), you'll be taking part in a celebratory champagne toast at dinner this evening!
 
 
Disney Cruises from New York

For the first time, Disney Cruise Line begins cruises from New York in 2012. The Disney Magic will make 8-night cruises to the Bahamas and Florida, which includes an excursion to Walt Disney World. The ship will also offer 5-night Canada cruises and a 2-night weekend cruise.  You'll find all the details at New York Cruise Guide.


This Week's New (or Improved) Hotels

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts celebrated their first property in Hawaii last week with the grand opening of the Koloa Landing Poipu Beach Wyndham Grand Resort. The 85 two-, three- and four-bedroom villas include the largest guest accommodations on the island of Kauai. Koloa Landing Poipu Beach is about 30 minutes from Lihue Airport.
 
Located on State Street on the north side of downtown Chicago, the Embassy Suites Chicago-Downtown is the beneficiary of a $12.3 million renovation. All 367 of their suites were overhauled with new carpeting, workstations, two HDTVs (32" and 40") and upgraded bathrooms.
