8 Hours of Pure Madness

The sound of steel bars scraping against one
another filled my ears all day yesterday.
 
My wrists, shoulders, and core got the best
workout yesterday they have in months.
 
Bud Jeffries was here yesterday and we shot
our first DVD collaboration on Steel Scrolling.
 
Scrolling involves taking steel bars and 
twisting them into various shapes.
 
Here's a picture of Bud and me holding some
of the formations we created:
 
 
Bud's one of the best in the world at Scrolling,
and perhaps THE BEST in the world at teaching
scrolling as well.  It's my pleasure to team up
with him on this project!
 
Most of the creations we made I will be donating
to a friend whose poor little 4-year-old daughter
has to undergo chemo-therapy for a large,
inoperable brain tumor.  They are having a Chinese
auction this month, and I am hoping that since
the scroll art is a bit different, they will help
them raise some money.
 
It is one of the most advanced forms of steel
bending, because it requires an immense
amount of force and takes the longest time to
complete.
 
Scrolling truly is an amazing workout.
 
My wrists, shoulders and core were all 
completely THROTTLED.
 
We shot the DVD for nearly 8 hours.
 
This of course included about 20 breaks
to drink water because it was unseasonably
hot yesterday.
 
We were sweating puddles on the floor,
and it felt awesome to make the steel
bend and do what we wanted it to.
 
It was a great time!
