Dear friends,

According to the Chinese zodiac, 2023 is the year of the Water Rabbit, symbolizing a gentler, more peaceful year, with Rabbits emerging from their burrows to greet the light. While this particular cosmology may hold various degrees of meaning in your own life, as a Rabbit myself, it feels more than a little auspicious.  

The analogy to our own community feels quite real; we are just recently emerging from a string of tough years. The community is starting to feel healthy and robust, and good people are deeply engaged in realizing Dancing Rabbit’s dream of a more gentle, regenerative, and compassionate world. At last year’s annual on-farm Board meeting we talked about how it feels like the community is entering spring time. From where I stand, the future of Dancing Rabbit is looking brighter than ever. More on that in an upcoming email.

One great way to support Dancing Rabbit is by donating to our nonprofit, the Center for Sustainable and Cooperative Culture (CSCC). CSCC runs many programs that bring people to DR to experience firsthand what it's like to live in a radically sustainable community. We also engage in various outreach and educational endeavors, and support sustainable development initiatives in our own ecovillage, and regionally as well.

To kick off 2023, we’ll be hosting our first fundraiser of the year, Give STL Day, which is happening on Wednesday, May 10.

Give STL Day is a 24-hour, online day-of-giving event designed to ignite the spirit of giving across the region by providing prize incentives for participating nonprofits. Stay tuned for more details about how to maximize your gift as the big day draws closer. For now, know that there are seven Power Hours which will amplify all donations received in these windows:
