Until very recently, AmazonSmile was a service that allowed you to do just this; converting a percentage of all your purchases from Amazon.com into donations to your nonprofit of choice. This was a small, but reliable, portion of Dancing Rabbit’s nonprofit income. 

While it is unfortunate that this service has been discontinued, there is another, similar service called iGive, that is actually partnered with a much broader range of online retailers (approximately 2,003) which you may already use. These include Chewy.com, Expedia.com, Backcountry.com, and many, many more. 

With iGive, depending on the retailer, anywhere from .4% to 20% of your purchases can be directed to DR’s nonprofit, Center for Sustainable and Cooperative Culture! To learn more and sign up, click here.

To be clear, we at Dancing Rabbit strongly encourage a culture of reducing consumption by thoughtfully considering whether you need what you're buying, buying second hand whenever possible, making things from scratch using local and found materials, as well as finding creative ways to repurpose and reuse objects which would otherwise be discarded. When you do choose to buy from one of these stores, why not support an organization which is working to empower individuals with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to more consciously engage with the market, our communities, and our natural and built environments?
