Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage

The birds are singing, the bees are buzzing and green grass is starting to pop its head up around the village. Spring has sprung here in the rolling hills of Northeast Missouri, and that can mean only one thing: visitor season is about to start! As we all wake up from the dreamy deep sleep of winter and ice, our deep hibernation is joyfully ended with the coming of new people to the village.

Only a few short weeks away, our first visitor session, starting April 14th, is a cause for celebration and excitement. As we get ready for your arrival, rabbits here in the village are spending time cleaning and freshening up as we prepare for our annual land clean day where we wipe away the remnants of last year in preparation for this year. With only 6 slots left, our first session is gearing up to be an awesome start to our visitor season.

With workshops, community events and more, we can’t wait for you to join us and experience a simpler, more sustainable life. As we read through letters from past visitors, we are eager to see what you will have to say. Come along and join us for a season of fun, adventure, laughter and learning as we all work towards making tomorrow a more sustainable future.

Here are some words of love, hope and encouragement to get you excited about how you can be a part of the change the world so desperately needs:

“Everyone loves to sit around and ponder, ‘Oh, if we just got rid of cars … if we just stopped eating animals … if we just all went solar... ‘ If you really want to see the work involved, the changes demanded, the compromises required, go to Dancing Rabbit. Talking about it is one thing, living it is another.”

“It’s a powerful immersion in a highly social, dynamic ecovillage. The visitor program allows you to choose your involvement load without guilt. It can be fun, but don’t expect to remain unmoved. You will be moved somehow and your perceptions will be challenged.”

  • Erin, 2018 Visitor Session 1

“It was a joyous, relaxing and informative retreat from the hectic, troubled world with a marvelous group of kind and trusting and trustworthy souls sharing their lives and hearts.”

  • Clyde, 2018 Visitor Session 2

“I love how rabbits truly and deeply care for each other. I love how the environmental impact of living here can and is being greatly reduced. I would say leave all expectations and judgment behind. Come with an open heart and open mind. Expect to learn more about yourself and learn about the environmental impact of your personal lifestyle.”

  • Dianne, 2018 Visitor Session 2

“Dancing Rabbit is somewhere that will inspire you to be a better human. To be around so many engaged, thoughtful, informed and active people is infectious. It relit my spark that has been dimmed by pessimism. Dancing Rabbit is active optimism. They are so purpose driven, it helps to inspire your own life. I think anyone wanting to see what a purpose driven life looks like should look no further that Dancing Rabbit.”
