The world has two more weeks until our calendars read 2021. It's been one monster of a year. Wildfires in the US and Australia, a record-breaking hurricane season, Vietnam and Cambodia floods, Yemen's humanitarian crisis, social injustice...and of course Covid-19. There is so much hurt in the world and paying attention to it can bring up a variety of emotions.
In the face of all this, I'm thankful to live in community. To be confronted by members of Dancing Rabbit about issues I can strive to bring to light, to challenge myself to become a better human being.
I'm reminded daily that it's important to care about my fellow human beings and the flora and fauna that surround us. When direct action does not present itself, one can turn to philanthropy.
Selecting worthwhile organizations and causes is the first step. While we contain a level of privilege here at Dancing Rabbit, our donors are supporting the culture of care and support of fellow human beings that are at the heart of philanthropy. Supporting the sharing of the knowledge and skills we have acquired through this Ecovillage creation and cultivation.
