Synopsis
This is a story about how our pasts and how we allow them to shape us. Eric hires Pepper, an escort, to spend the night with him. Not to have sex, just to be there. What Pepper
doesn’t know is that Eric doesn’t just want company, he doesn’t want to die alone. It’s just two people in a room doing what people do best, dancing around their real feelings. At the end of the evening one of them learns about strength, and the other about vulnerability.

Breakdown
ERIC – Male – mid 20’s to early 30’s. Eric is a young man disillusioned in a world he feels is divided into predators and victims. This outlook is driven primarily by childhood trauma surrounding the actions of his sadistic older brother and exacerbated by his career as a LA crisis hotline counsellor. He’s haunted by feelings of inadequacy and helplessness that he masks with humor.
PEPPER (ROSE) – Female – Late 20’s. Pepper (real name Rose) is sharp, in control, and self-aware. She was raised in the foster system and sexually abused much of her childhood. At age 17 she set out on her own. She doesn’t hide from her past and doesn’t deny that it has influenced her path, but it doesn’t define her. She sees her sexuality as talent, one that people are will to pay for, no different
than the skills of anyone else.
