Feeling trapped by traditional social expectations, they have a marriage that’s rife with conflict and they’re at odds with their counterculture kids. They air their frustrations during restaurant outings, where it becomes apparent the entire family hungers for more than what’s on the menu.

The boys are left to contend with Grandma, with Bella and her secret romance, and with Louie, her brother, a small-time hoodlum in a strange new world called Yonkers.
