What To Prepare
An audition form. Please fill this form out and bring it to the auditions with you.

If you are unable to print it out, blank audition forms will be available when you check in at auditions. Please check the rehearsal calendar provided at auditions and make sure we know of any and all conflicts you might
have prior to casting.
A picture of yourself (a school photo or home snapshot will do) with your name, age and phone number printed on the back. If you’ve performed before or would like us to know about any special skills you have (sing, play a musical instrument, dance, juggle, speak a second language), put that information on a piece of paper with your name, address, phone number
and age, and bring that with you too!
Most of our shows at Valley Youth Theatre are musicals. At these auditions we’d like you to sing for us. We provide an accompanist (bring your own sheet music!), or you can bring a CD or MP3 player for accompaniment (we have a CD player available). You are welcome to prepare anything from 16 bars to an entire song. The director/musical director will let you know when to stop singing if you have prepared a longer
selection.
For musicals, please dress in appropriate attire to dance. Please do not wear sandals or skirts. If you choose to bring a change of clothes, changing areas will be provided to do so. Also, we recommend you bring a bottle of water to remain hydrated and energized. Remember, the key to a great performing arts audition is being prepared!
