A
mixed-status Latino immigrant family faces life after the passage of Arizona's Senate Bill 1070. The play explores the ramifications of the infamous law that put Arizona on the map for all of the wrong reasons. "1070" follows one family's fight to survive the social and political upheaval caused by the law's passage and the cascading effect it had statewide and across the nation.
Character Breakdown
Eight to 10 adult and female roles (20s to 60s), various ethnicities; two child roles, one
male and one female (10 to 12 years old). Actors may be asked to play more than one role. Bilingualism in English and Spanish helpful, but not required.
What To Prepare
Cold reads, actors are not required but welcome to perform one or two short monologues.
