A group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school faces issues of sexuality and personal identity. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their Church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves. Its rich, vibrant score draws on many styles of contemporary music.

NEEDED
7 MEN & 6 WOMEN aged 17-45+ with strong vocal and acting abilities.

JASON (male 18-25, plays 17-18, TENOR) Handsome golden child of St. Cecilia’s senior class

PETER (male 17-25, plays 17-18, TENOR) Introspective and smart, Jason’s clandestine boyfriend


IVY (female 18-25, plays 17/18, MEZZO) Pretty, popular, but very insecure

NADIA (female 17-25, plays 17/18, MEZZO/ALTO) Jason’s pudgy, sardonic twin sister

MATT (male 17-25, plays 17/18, BARITENOR) Studious and pious, Jason’s academic rival

LUCAS (male 17-25, plays 17/18, BARITENOR) The school’s fun-loving purveyor of “altered reality”
(yeah, he’s a drug dealer.  Also, needs to be able to RAP)

TANYA (female 17-25, plays 17/18, MEZZO/ALTO) Lucas’s girlfriend

KYRA (female 17-25, plays 17/18, MEZZO) Student, sexy, confident

DIANE (female 17-25, plays 17/18, ALTO) Student, very naïve

RORY (male 17-25, plays 17/18, BARITENOR) Student, sarcastic

ZACK (male 17-25, plays 17/18, BARITENOR) Student, jock type

ALAN (male 17-25, plays 17/18, BARITENOR) Student, nerdy type

CLAIRE (female 40-50, MEZZO) Peter’s over-parenting mother

SISTER CHANTELLE (african-american female 40-55, MEZZO/GOSPEL) A nun, wise but no-nonsense

PRIEST (male 45-60, BARITONE) St. Cecelia’s headmaster


AUDITIONS
will be held on 
FRIDAY, APRIL 14TH (5 min. slots available between 12:00PM and 3:30PM)
FRIDAY, APRIL 14TH (5 min. slots available between 6:30PM and 10:00PM)
SUNDAY, APRIL 16TH (5 min. slots available between 8:30PM and 10:30PM)

PREPARE
2 song cuttings totaling NO MORE THAN 2 MINUTES (you will be timed) (One preferably in an upbeat pop or rock-theatre genre) and a one minute monologue. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MONOLOGUE, PLEASE COME AND AUDITION ANYWAY WITH YOUR CUTTINGS. Please bring sheet music in your key; AN ACCOMPANIST WILL BE PROVIDED. You may also bring CD accompaniment, but DO NOT BRING ipods, laptops or any devices which require special set-up time. YOUR AUDITION IS LIMITED TO THREE MINUTES. It is not recommended that you prepare any songs from “bare”.

CALLBACKS
will be held on MONDAY, APRIL 17TH at 7:30PM --BE PREPARED TO STAY LATE-- and will consist of songs from the score, cold reads from the script, and a simple movement audition. Please dress comfortably or bring a change of clothes.

REHEARSALS BEGIN
The week of April 17th. 4 to 5 nights a week, 6:00PM to 10:30PM.
