The Bridge
Initiative: Women in Theatre is partnering with Tempe Center for the Arts to offer The Bechdel Test Fest, Saturday and Sunday, September 9th and 10th, at Tempe Center for the Arts. Festival offerings include a panel discussion, play readings, film screenings, children's workshops, music, and more. Plays and films pass the Bechdel Test: Two female-identifying characters who have a conversation with each other about something other than a man.
Casting for readings of contest-winning plays written by Arizona-based playwrights. Full-length plays Chosen Child by Monica Bauer, Welcome Home, Roberta DuCant by Larissa Brewington, All that Matters by Hira Ismail; short plays Three Conversations NOT about Men by Angelica Howland, 27 Signs by Laurelann Porter and Amy Funk, Nasty by Germaine Shames.
Character Breakdown
Diversity in ethnicity, demographics, gender, and age for the rich range of six plays. All types, ages, abilities, and gender-identifications are encouraged to audition. The Bridge Initiative has several projects in the pipeline and will be happy to meet those interested in working

What To Prepare
Cold readings from scripts only. Must bring headshot/resume and arrive early to your appointment to
fill out the audition form. Must be available for rehearsals August 31- September 10th. Must be available for the reading of the play you are cast in.
