Show Synopsis
“The Decade” follows one man’s (Jake) journey through the Decade 2000-2010. From falling in love, to losing his pregnant wife in the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, to
joining the military and returning from Afghanistan broken to becoming addicted to opioids and finding that the world he once knew no longer has a place for him. All upon the backdrop of scenes from the decade and music created in “The Decade”.

Although these are soldiers, no firearms will be used, no stunts.
Soldier #1 – Stewart (supporting): Male Ethnicity: Caucasian
Stewart is one of the 6 soldiers that were part of Jake’s unit in Afghanistan (Jake being the only survivor). He is from Philadelphia, should be on the skinny shorter side.

Soldier #2 – McCain (supporting): Male Ethnicity: Asian
McCain was also one of the 5 troops Jake lost in Afghanistan. McCain was adopted and by his mother and step-father in the Garden District in New Orleans. His mother passed when he was still
young and his step dad raised him from there. His name was his Mother’s husband, so between that and his appearance, his name does not seem to fit the man. His mother’s maiden name was Arnaud. He is the team medic and probably the most educated of the bunch, but still much younger than Jake.

Soldier #3 – Rodham (supporting): Female Ethnicity: Hispanic
Rodham is a gay women who is married with a child at home. She was the communications specialist in the group and is one of the 5
that were left I Afghanistan. It is still don’t ask and don’t tell, and her and her unit do neither. She is ½ Mexican (mother) and half Irish.

Soldier #4 – Page (supporting): Male Ethnicity: Caucasian
Page is from Bisbee Arizona and is the child of two hippies, that moved to the town of Bisbee (an old mining town just north of the Mexican border). One of Jake’s troops that did not make it home. He loves the Grateful Dead and most music from the 60’s. A
little spacy, but smart, acts as translator.

Soldier #5 – Booker (supporting): Male Ethnicity: African American
Booker is from South Lake Tahoe, California. He is the final person that is left in Afghanistan. His parents support everything he does. He had a full ride to Stanford and dropped out a few weeks after he started, right after 911. They take an interest in Jake. Michelle is his sister.
