EVOLVE ACADEMY  CLOSED TONIGHT OPEN MAT SESSION BEING HELD Tuesday, January 16th |
 Due to the Montgomery County Public Schools closure and Evolve Academy's Inclement Weather Policy, we are closed for all regularly scheduled classes this evening, Tuesday, January 16th. WE WILL BE HOLDING AN OPEN MAT SESSION THIS EVENING FROM 5:00 - 7:00 PM Mr. Leo will will be available to answer questions for students, clarify techniques, suggest training ideas while in attendance, etc. We understand that this situation is not ideal, and that it is the first time we have had to cancel because of the weather in nearly 2 years, however t is our policy to close when MCPS closes due to the weather, so we need to continue to follow this policy. If you plan to attend the Open Mat session this evening, we ask that you abide by all Evolve Academy rules, including wearing appropriate attire (uniform) when on the Mat, keeping your uniform and person clean and sanitized, wearing flip flops/shoes in the bathrooms, etc. We also ask that no child (student or child of student) remain unattended while in the academy. Please check your email, facebook or our phone line for any updates in regards to our schedule. Notifications will be sent out by 6:00 AM on poor weather days, in order to allow students to plan accordingly. We are looking at messy side streets that could ice over this evening. Colder temperatures are not conducive to safe travel conditions overnight, so be sure to double check our schedule before heading out tomorrow. Additionally, we are looking at a second potential weather system coming through the area on Friday. While we do not hold classes that day, many students meet for Open Mat training, and we also have classes normally held on Saturday morning, including our scheduled Kids Black Belt Ceremony. Since MoCo Schools doesn't normally announce closures on the weekend, we will need to closely monitor and determine the need to delay or cancel our opening.
