EVOLVE ACADEMY  CLOSED TONIGHT OPEN MAT SESSION BEING HELD 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, January 17th |
 Due to the Montgomery County Public Schools closure and Evolve Academy's Inclement Weather Policy, we are closed for all regularly scheduled classes this evening, Tuesday, January 16th. WE WILL BE HOLDING AN OPEN MAT SESSION THIS EVENING FROM 5:00 - 8:00 PM We will have (2) instructors on hand to answer questions for students, clarify techniques, suggest training ideas while in attendance, etc. Mr. Leo will be helping/training with the BJJ and No-gi students, while Mr. Al will be working with the PDS and MMA students. With TCB, Cagezilla, and now Groundswell's Smoker on the horizon, we will make every attempt to allow time for training and fine tuning of skills. And if you are just wanting to get in a good sweat this evening? Feel free to come train on a heavy bag, utilize our cardio and weight equipment, or take a stab at the Primal WOD workout!! We do understand that this situation is not ideal, especially since the majority of our main roads are now passable, however many of the secondary roads remain ice covered, and with the extremely low temperatures, there will be limited melting. it is our policy to close when Montgomery County Public Schools closes due to inclement weather conditions, and we trust that they have made the safest decision for their students and staff, so we feel that we should do the same. If you plan to attend the Open Mat session this evening, we ask that you abide by all Evolve Academy rules, including wearing appropriate attire (uniform) when on the Mat, keeping your uniform and person clean and sanitized, wearing flip flops/shoes in the bathrooms, etc. We also ask that no child (student or child of student) remain unattended while in the academy. Please check your email, facebook or our phone line for any updates in regards to our schedule. Notifications will be sent out early on days that we hold morning classes and by Noon on all the days. This should allow students to plan accordingly. Additionally, we are looking at a second potential weather system coming through the area on Friday. While we do not hold classes that day, many students meet for Open Mat training, and we also have classes normally held on Saturday morning, including our scheduled Kids Black Belt Ceremony. Since MoCo Schools doesn't normally announce closures on the weekend, we will need to closely monitor and determine the need to delay or cancel our opening.
