Due to the unpredicted amount of winter
precipitation that has covered our area, we
are going to be closed on Saturday, January 20th
for all regularly scheduled classes. Open
Mat Sessions are being held, and listed below.
We are also postponing the Children's Black Belt
Ceremony that was originally scheduled. Due
to several scheduling conflicts, this ceremony
will now be held on Saturday, February 3rd,
immediately following children's classes.
WE WILL BE HOLDING (2) SEPARATE OPEN
MAT SESSIONS ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 20TH.
CHILDREN'S OPEN MAT
8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
ADULT OPEN MAT
10:00AM - NOON
Mr. Leo will be on hand to answer questions
for students, clarify techniques, suggest
training ideas while in attendance, etc.
Children can feel free to come train with
another young adult student, workout on a
bag or free play. Consider this an opportunity
for parents to drop off children for an hour
and a half just to get the energy out, or if your
child wishes to practice this week's technique,
Mr. Leo can direct him/her on proper execution,
or to offer alternative training suggestions.
WE ASK THAT ALL CHILDREN ARE PICKED
UP BY 10:00AM SO THAT THE ADULTS CAN
HAVE THEIR OWN OPEN MAT TRAINING TIME.
If you are an adult student who needs to
bring in a child with you, make sure they stay
off of the Mats after 10:00 AM. They are welcome
to play up front with the megablocks or stay
on the turf area. We ask this for safety's sake,
since Mr. Leo will be the only staff member
available to oversee things and to make sure
that all students remain safe.
If you are an adult, feel free to come roll
with other students, drill jiu jitsu techniques,
train on a heavy bag, utilize our cardio
and weight equipment, or take a stab at
the Primal WOD!! The Mat is yours from 10-12:)
THIS OPEN MAT SESSION IS
FOR OUR CURRENT STUDENTS
ONLY!! NO GUESTS ARE PERMITTED
If you plan to attend the Open Mat session,
we ask that you abide by all Evolve Academy
rules, including wearing appropriate attire
(uniform) when on the Mat, keeping your
uniform and person clean and sanitized,
wearing flip flops/shoes in the bathrooms, etc.
We also ask that no child (student or child
of a adult student) remain unattended
while at the academy.
We do understand that this situation is not
ideal, especially since the majority of our main
roads are now passable, however many of the
secondary roads remain ice covered, and with
the low temperatures, there will be limited
melting. We considered remaining open, and
in fact planned to stay open when only expecting
2-3" of snow, but areas of Montgomery
County ended up getting 6+" of snow, which
has delayed snow removal and made our back
streets a mess. We sincerely appreciate your
understanding, and we look forward
to a full 6 days of solid training next week!!
