Hi,
One of the best parts of Fitness Atlantic is meeting new people.
People like Andrew Turenne who had participated a few years back.
I love having another transformation athlete to support and share the journey.
Here is his story and be sure to watch the video!
Prior to signing up with Sean and Tiffany Larson (Personal Performance, LLC), I trained based off of what education and experience I had at the time.
Meeting them, being coached, mentored, and motivated through their 17 Week Program has changed my entire mindset and outlook on nutrition and training.
While I did manage to lose well over 100lbs. before meeting them, their influence and guidance has taught me the right way to eat and correct way to train.
Through their guidance and direction, I have been able to continue to lose weight (total loss 141 lbs.) while also changing my physique by decreasing my Body Fat Percentage and increasing my Lean Muscle Mass. On top of that, their training and service has given me a new sense of confidence and self-esteem.
My workouts consist of weight training with a focus on isolating specific body parts one at a time with high intensity volume training accompanied by HIIT cardiovascular exercise. All of the training is supplemented with six (6) meals a day consisting of whole foods that are rich in protein and paired with the proper ratio of carbs and fats to help my body heal and sustain.
My journey began on Friday 19 May 2017 when I punched out for my last shift as a career Firefighter. At 315lbs., I was a liability to my crew as well those I was being paid to provide a service to. With the support of my wife (Renee), I was able to secure employment as a Project Safety Manager in the Construction Management Field which would provide a lifestyle conducive to maintaining a healthier lifestyle.
As a father of two (2), my health and obesity had sidelined me where I was being a fixed figure on the couch, rather than the father figure that my children deserved to have. Our daughter Gianna is 7 and our son Dominic is 5. Their perception of me and how I lived was bound to be an influence on them and it was up to me to change that before it had a detrimental impact on them.
Since my start in May of 2017, I have managed to lose 141 lbs. and have accomplished goals that were (in my mind) at the time unobtainable. With the support of my wife and coaches, motivation of my children, and the desire to succeed, I have been able to complete a wide array of road races, experienced the beach with my children for the first time, and even took on the role as Head Coach for my son's flag football and baseball teams.
Becoming the best version of myself has eliminated the use of a Sleep Apnea Machine, I am no longer considered Hypertensive or Pre-Diabetic, nor to I experience knee pain, back pain, or depression.
At close to 40 years old, I am the happiest and healthiest that I have ever been and I owe it all to my support staff and new lifestyle.
Challenge yourself and become the best version of yourself, you deserve it.
It is a "challenge for a reason, because it challenges you mentally and physically. You will end up a champion in the end and me a stronger person both inside and outside.
It is perfectly acceptable to "fall off the wagon". What matters most is that you get back up no matter how many times you fall. Dust yourself off and keep crushing goals.
