Hi ,Â
Â
Happy New Year and Cheers to a MUCH better 2021 than 2020.Â
Today let's look at one of 2020's few major success stories, The Queen's Gambit. Turns out, not everyone had a dreary year.Â
Â
The short story: The Queen's Gambit took 30 years to make ANDÂ the producer, Allan Scott, was in the hospital ill with Covid when it was broadcast on Netflix for the first time.Â
Â
There is almost no success story in life, much less in entertainment, that doesn't have a dramatic back story and The Queen's Gambit is no exception. Sort of like how every great movie is a dramatic back story, fraught with challenges, that ends in triumph, right?Â
Â
The lesson here is DON'T GIVE UP! Start 2021 knowing your film will be made. It might even get a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. And yes, it might take 30 years, but we hope to help you make that window MUCH shorter.Â
Â
We highlight these stories to show you it isn't easy, but the most committed filmmakers will always get the job done. More examples of the road hard travelled?
