industry.  The goal of the article was to "create a distribution resource for filmmakers that could help break down the walls between artists and gatekeepers" and here are some key things we learned: - Healthy, organic social engagement from a cast can be a major marketing boon. Engagement is the key word here, not just numbers. Will they transact with/for the movie?Â
- Blind submission success is rare, but it does
happen
- Theatrical release is still golden. Streaming is not the priority for every distributor (even post-pandemic, there are still dozens of distributors that say this).Â
- Service deals are quite popular. You own your film. They market and distribute it for a fee.Â
