Look at our friends having a blast with a Cortina of an American pop classic [Those were the days - Mary Hopkins] with Russian lyrics. We get such a kick out of our Milongueros fun loving spirit, enjoy:
TANGO REPORT: January 20th, 2022 celebrations continue. Everyone just partied on, danced, laughed and burnt up the dance floor.
DJ Luis Ramirez had all the milongueros on the dance floor and even dancing to the Cortinas.
Terri's Firehouse Tango-Milonga II is the premier showcase for all things that celebrate our passion for traditional Argentine tango where friends come together and have fun. We dance like no one is watching!
Everyone feels welcome and right at home here with us. We are the friendliest Milonga in town thanks to all of you.
NEW STUFF ANNOUNCEMENT:
With your comfort in consideration - I have added two HEPA approved AIR PURIFIERS that utilize multi-level UV airborne particle technology filters used in airplanes, hospitals and military facilities. These two units will cover the entire venue. They are capable of completely cleaning a room of over 1350 square ft. and way over 600 cubic feet per
hour! It is provided to us courtesy of AMI GLOBAL SECURITY, LLC [my son Tony gifted it to us for our safety or else I cannot come out and play anymore. Thank you Tony]

Your wonderful instructors Analia Carreno and Luis Ramirez the Masters of Argentine Tango have a talent for teaching and coaching Tango for every skill level. You re going to love it, no matter what your skill level is. It is a fun time for us all.
Milonga 8:30PM to 11:15PM
Our popular DJ Marcos Blanco will DJ for us. He brings a terrific mix of popular Argentine tango classics for you to dance to and add spicy Cortinas designed to inspire and motivate you to keep you on the floor dancing.
Admission: $20.00 includes guided group lesson and Milonga, snacks and cold and hot beverages, limited free parking available in our lot, convenient street parking, please be kind to our neighbors.

He also takes all the videos of the Group Class, after lesson demonstration for our Milongueros and Milongueras to enjoy afterwards.
Tibor trouble shoots if we have technical difficulties. He represents management and maintains policy. Tibor is the name, Tango is the game!

Our variety Cortinas by our DJs.
We add adobo and sofrito to spice up our Cortinas. Our Cortinas are a delicious mix of Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Cumbia and social style dance that simply keep up the mood with sabor [flavor]. Yet, we consistently remain loyal to our roots.
Remember and Remember -- here is where we always keep the traditional Argentine Tango alive!

Encourage each other as much as I encourage you. Praise each other, compliment each other and coach each other. We are not competitors. We are Tango dancers and Tango friends. Etiquette and good manners set us apart from everyone else.
TALKING POINTS:
Our newsletters is peppered with tango terminology, history, and bits of factoids to help expand your Tango knowledge.
TANGO TERMS:
ABRAZO (ah-brah-so) The embrace is a hug or dance position, dance hold.
ADORNO (ah-dor-no) Adornment: embellishment that is done with the feet and legs.
ARRASTRE ah-rah-stray) From arrastrar-to drag.
BARRIDA. (BARR-REE-DA) A sweep, a sweeping motion. One dancer slides or sweeps their partner's free foot along the floor and places it in a new position without losing foot contact. Barridas are done from the outside or inside of the foot of receiving party.
BASICO(BAH-SEE-KOH) A basic pattern of steps used while dancing tango. There are several basic patterns the most common of which is the eight-count basic
or salida.
BOLEO(boh-lay-oh) From bolear--to throw, to swing a free leg. This is usually done by checking the lady's body rotation in mid turn. The boleo, a whip like action of the free leg, is done while swiveling on one foot. A boleo may be executed either high or low depending on the power and intention in the lead. These can be done forward or back.

Tango is not only about learning steps, but understanding and listening to the music.
Each artist interprets the same music /song that you dance to, but the musical styles are different.
Your ear, needs to listen so that you can dance to each interpretation from those artists elegantly.
It is written all over the place that the best way to improve your dancing is to know the music you are dancing to as your body moves with the different styles, so that you may look and be lead gracefully on the dance floor. Your style is yours. Own it.

INSTRUCTORS REPORT:
I offer everyone top shelf master instructors that lead by example, coach you, improve your self confidence, and sharpen the skills you've already learned. Our seasoned dancers and our new comers feel at ease. No fear. We all learn from each other. We all coach each other. We all enjoy each other like no place else.
Where ever you go to dance your own unique style will be evident and noticed.
Naturally, every instructor has their own style and methodologies. What works and what sticks with you is all that counts.
NOTE: Analia Carreno and Luis Ramirez are available for private lessons.

BRAGGING RIGHTS:
It has become quite evident that no matter where our Milongueros and Milongueras go to dance, their style and versatility are immediately recognizable as "you must be from Terri's Firehouse Tango-Milonga II!"
Every seasoned Tangueros feel right at home here because you are always welcome. So continue to come by and join us for the fun of it.
Everyone benefits from the lessons and we all enjoy the exchanges of style, variety and comportment towards one another.
Thursday nights with us are the Tango kick-off so come on over. This is the place for all Tangueros from everywhere to Tango. If you can only Tango one night a week, Thursday nights with us is the place you want to be.
Fun is the operative word. We are not only a showcase for the Tango Community, but the place to go and simply have fun, enjoy really good people and dance like you just don't care!
