What's new?
So, the youngest son's goats have started to 'kid'! OMG... so cute! (see picture below). Goats tend to have twins... the other little one was nursing, so I just got a close up of this sweet girlie!
Otherwise, I guess I am just (still) feeling so behind. I have so many unanswered emails and requests. I teach at the end of the month (up here in Canada) and still need to organize dogs and paperwork. I said yes to some interviews... but haven't had time to reply. I'm behind on clinic marketing efforts. We're selling some of our ranch beef privately, and that takes more time than just shipping them off to the stock yards (and
requires another freezer... which needs to be purchased asap!!!). And of course, as I've said before, trying to reclaim our house (and the boys' old bedrooms and our basement that is storing all of our cottage furniture and various bits of 'ranch paraphernalia' now). Oh, and we are looking at buying more cows from a relative that is retiring. It's all so much to keep track of and on so many different plates!
Beyond that, I've watched a bit of the Olympics here and there, and I have been keeping tabs on the Trucker Convoy / Freedom Rallies here in Canada. Interesting times we live in!
Not sure what else is of interest... and given that my bandwidth is narrow, I'll leave it at that!
So, that's it for the updates... On with the show!!

Four Leg BLOG:
Progressing Exercise Sessions - Part 1
|
|
How do you progress your patient? How hard do you push? Is some soreness acceptable after an exercise session?
This conversation came up at my work this week and it reminded me of conversations I’ve had with other physiotherapists about new grad physios (in human practice).
A colleague once told me that when she had a physio student in her practice, that the caseload of the clinic would drop. Why? She noted that the physio students didn’t know how often to bring the patient’s back into clinic for treatment. This would result in patients not getting better in a timely manner, or dropping off because they weren’t seeing results.
I’ve also noted from questions that have come in to me over the years and those on Facebook groups or chat groups, that those who are new the profession, face the same issues that any of us who are new to our own respective professions make, that the answers to the questions above come from clinical experience.
Let’s dive in!

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
