What's new?
Well, my birthday was on Friday last week - Lucky Friday the 13th. It was lucky, because it appears that our cow deal will go through (buying some of my cousin's cows and renting their land). I'm also buying out my business partner (with two staff members that I trust), as she is retiring. That deal is proceeding. I'm working my connections to find people for my son's girlfriend to talk to in order to have a strong application to get into vet
school. So, all of that has been busy, but is moving in a good direction.
My Long Covid is improving. Not 100% better yet, as I realized when responding to an email that I had completely missed the question after the person replied to my reply.
Trying to sort out courses for the Animal Rehab Division... It is all quite the whirlwind of events!
So, that's it for the updates... On with the show!!

Four Leg BLOG:
Client Education
|
|
I’ve had a couple of instances lately that made me realize how much I take for granted the things that I know as a physio and canine rehab professional AND that I need to be aware of these so that I can do a better job with my patient education.
The first instance was a long-time client with an older dog having mobility issues. She had watched a video where the speaker was explaining to the watchers how positioning the rear legs into a proper position can help a weak dog to get up from sitting or lying. I was surprised that this was new to
her.
...
The second recent incident was with another calf on the ranch. He’s not getting up. Maybe it was a lack of oxygen to the brain when he was born? (His mom calved overnight, and the hired hand found him flat as a pancake.) So, he had improved a wee bit to being able to lie in a normal upright position, but
couldn’t get up. The hired hand asked me to have a look at him.

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that
your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
