Let's get on with the show! Got a Question? Need Answers? Need Ideas?
WELL LOOK NO FURTHER! See what the Four Leg LIBRARY of content has to offer! Or jump onto the FORUM and ask your questions... Not on the Forum yet? Go and register! Not a member yet? Why not?! Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Well, it's been a productive week. I'll take it. I've written a section for a journal article. I've had 3 zoom meetings. I had a nice visit with Xana's co-owner/sort-of-breeder who came out to see her. The clinic is still busy. I managed to get to a football game. Xana's iliopsoas
strain (that popped up last weekend during the first snow fall) seems to be resolving. I do have a few emergent 'crisises' to deal with... but I'm taking the attitude that you just take them in stride and not let yourself develop anxiety over them. And, I've been waking up 'happy'... which, with all of the turmoil in the world today, seems to be a super-achievement!! I think I'm going to try and plan a holiday in February... (now, just to decide, 'what to do and where to
go!') So, That's it for the updates... On with the show!!

Four Leg BLOG: The clues that porphyrin staining can share
|
|
I had an interesting case come through this past week. It was a sporting dog with no specific issues. He was just in for routine care.
The dog in question is white and liver in colouring, and the thing I noticed first was that he had a faintly pinkish area over his lumber spine. I checked the skin and saw nothing unusual. Next, I palpated along the epaxial muscles. There was increased tone adjacent to L4, more so on the right side than the left. Furthermore, L4 was painful to push on the spinous process from the right side as well. Dorsoventral pressure to the articular pillar of the L4/L5 facet joint on the right was painful as well. My synopsis was that the dog had a bit of a neuritis at that location Upon questioning the owner about this spot, she said that she had noted the
discolouration, and she thought the dog had rolled in something. She had never seen him lick or chew at that area either, but it was the only thing that made sense in the scenario. What did I do? What do I think? What do you need to understand about area of porphyrin staining? Continue reading - click below...

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that
your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
