WELL LOOK NO FURTHER! See what the Four Leg LIBRARY of content has to offer! Or jump onto the FORUM and ask your questions... Not on the Forum yet? Go and register! Not a member yet? Why not?! Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Happy Easter! Finally, we have some lovely spring weather! As I write this, I'm sitting on the deck in the sunshine. Many birds are coming back... we had our first robin show up in the yard this week and a few eagles around the ranch. What else has been
happening? Well, last week I had the excitement of a mammogram and I got 5 more chicken (and they're lovely)! The clinic is busy! So many dogs, and so many wonderful clients to visit with! I've seen a handful of emergency cases; one geriatric vestibular dog, the IVDD case I discuss in this weeks blog, and one case where a vet friend asked for my help to help diagnose a weird Bernese Mountain Dog. (Oh... Bernese Mountain
Dogs...) So, That's it for the updates... On with the show!!

Four Leg BLOG: Localizing a Lesion & Providing Hope
|
|
As traditional veterinary medicine expands and becomes more complex, the general practice veterinarian is pulled in too many directions, and is understandably fragmented in their ability to be up to date on all aspects of health and techniques for the species in which they choose to specialize. This is not a negative blog post. Instead, this is a post the recognizes a need for generalists, specialists, and even ‘outsiders’ like myself in the animal health care arena. This past week I had another interesting case that was presented to me that highlighted the physical therapist’s ability to localize a lesion and provide treatment options. Localizing pain is the first step to identifying a problem. It leads to testing further, interpreting findings, and then proceeding with the appropriate
treatment. The case also highlighted the importance of options for animals as well – not just surgery or euthanasia… but maybe ‘rehab’! So the case in question is a Basset Hound with IVDD and no motor control. Continue reading - click below...

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that
your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
