Let's get on with the show! Got a Question? Need Answers? Need Ideas?
WELL LOOK NO FURTHER! See what the Four Leg LIBRARY of content has to offer! Or jump onto the FORUM and ask your questions... Not on the Forum yet? Go and register! Not a member yet? Why not?! Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Today feels a little bit bogged down with too much on my plate. There's always too much on my plate... so I guess what's different (from time to time) is my ability to cope / roll with it / focus and deal with it all. It seems that a couple of things get removed and then more things pile on! Is this why
people sell all of their possessions, move to a tropical country, and open a lemonade stand near the beach?
Let's see, the garden is good but I'm fighting flea beetles (on my brassicas) and lygus bugs (on my potatoes). The clinic is busy. I need a hair cut. Hubby needs a hair cut. Dogs all need toe nails done. So, in addition to this eblast, I'll be dealing with toes, hair, and bugs today (Sunday).
Have a great week ahead everyone! So, That's it for the updates... On with the show!!

Four Leg BLOG: FATTY MUSCLES
|
I remember back in the day when it
was said, “you can’t turn fat into muscle”. You had to lose fat and gain muscle. The two were different substances. While that’s still true, it
doesn’t account for the infiltration of fat into atrophied muscles. Let’s discuss that topic a bit more.
From Hildebrandt, M., Fankhauser, G., Meichtry, A. et al. Correlation
between lumbar dysfunction and fat infiltration in lumbar multifidus muscles in patients with low back pain. BMC Musculoskelet Disord 18, 12 (2017). So, studies have shown
that people with back pain also tend to have atrophy of their multifidus muscles. Further studies reveal that the atrophied multifidus muscles also have fatty infiltration, so much so that the cross sectional area of the fatty multifidus might actually ‘measure’ the same as a person without back pain. Additional studies have looked at patients with injuries, such as hip fractures. It’s been shown that a limb with a significant injury will have a higher percentage of low-density muscle (low quality muscle tissue with fatty infiltrate) and a lower percentage of high-density muscle (normal muscle tissue). In these instances, muscle does ‘sorta’ turn into fat! Yikes! If you’ve been contemplating becoming a couch
potato, perhaps you should reconsider Continue reading - click below...

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that
your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!
