Got a Question? Need Answers? Need Ideas?
WELL LOOK NO FURTHER! See what the Four Leg LIBRARY of content has to offer! Or jump onto the FORUM and ask your questions... Not on the Forum yet? Go and register! Not a member yet? Why not?! Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Well, this week I was on my own to manage the household and the water troughs for the cows for half the herd on my non-work days. It should have been smooth sailing... but things just don't go as planned. Blown fuses, melted plug ins, lower water levels, broken
electric fence... It has not been a smooth sailing week! So, I'm happy that hubby is back home, just for the sheer fact that he can resume his ranch duties and leave me to do all of the stuff I normally do!
Adding to my excitement... I've spent hours in emergency on Saturday afternoon/evening with the same cousin that I spent last Friday in Urgent Care with. This time it's been gall stones... not surgical... So, as I type this
(Sunday morning), I'm sitting in her house doing my best to stay sane. She called me this morning with the gallstone pain again... so I've done some visceral manipulation with her, and she feels a bit better. As she naps, I've done her dishes, cleaned out the kitty litter, emptied garbages, texted with her kids to keep them up to date. (Living the dream people... living the dream!)
And other than that, I have watched a bunch of
Christmas movies and a handful of 'girl movies' that I know my husband wouldn't care about if I watched them by myself. I put up the Christmas tree... we bought a fake one last year and I hate it. However the lights are built in and I do love Christmas lights... so it is up in the corner and I turn the lights on. It's not decorated yet, but the boxes are up from the basement... I just really really don't like it. I have started to construct / fill 2 new garden beds for next summer. The bottom layers of compostable stuff are in place - they just need the soil next! I'll be ready for spring!!
So, that's it for the updates... On with the show!

Four Leg BLOG: Passing Along Tips, Tricks, or a Community That Will Do Just That!

I had quick read through a fantastic new book recently. I was very impressed. Enough so that it inspired my blog for this week.
I’ve been humbled a few times when clients have told me,
“oh, I watched a video on YouTube that helped me do ‘xyz’”, or “a dog friend told me about ‘such and such’.” I have to admit, I’ve had times when I felt like I’d let a client down because I assumed that they would just automatically know something that I had taken for granted having learned years before! (i.e. Position your dog’s legs in a normal bent position before asking him to get up to a standing position from a sit. Walk on the grass instead of the sidewalk if your dog is
scuffing her feet when she walks.) Sometimes in an appointment, we are just looking at the ‘here and now’ and we forget to educate about management at home! Home management is critical! Place a mat at the bottom of the stairs or for turning corners. How to help a dog go up or down stairs. How to entice a dog to lie on its side. The need to raise a food or water bowl. Putting a
contrasting strip of tape on the stairs to help a dog know where to step when his/her vision is failing. Other times, we don’t think to connect our clients with resources to help them answer questions that they might have that we’ve not even thought about! New Book There are some fantastic resources out there. The book that inspired this blog is
entitled Emotion to Motion, How the Mind Impacts Your Dog’s Mobility, by Kate Titus. Continue reading - click below...

Have You Checked it Out?

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question
pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!
