Got a Question? Need Answers? Need Ideas?
WELL LOOK NO FURTHER! See what the Four Leg LIBRARY of content has to offer! Or jump onto the FORUM and ask your questions... Not on the Forum yet? Go and register! Not a member yet? Why not?! Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Well, internet in Cuba was patchy. I'm back home and trying to get caught up. I will say that I enjoyed Cuba very much. We didn't do an all-inclusive resort (well, other than just the last day). Instead we had a private guide and toured around much of
the northern parts of Cuba - Havana, Vinales, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, & Santa Clara. We learned a lot about Cuban history, but more about how Cubans actually live. It was very humbling. Our guided graduated as a petroleum engineer, top of his class... but even so, his salary was the equivalent of $30 USD / month! He went into tour guiding because he could have a better life. His sister is a doctor. She can't afford a television. Yet, there is no crime.
We felt safe everywhere we went. We got to experience shopping, like a Cuban. There are no malls, or multipurpose stores. There are kiosks inside buildings, or just a little opening on the front of a building. You see if that kiosk happens to have a plumbing fitting perhaps or a motor part. No? Well, you'll have to find a different kiosk, run by a different person, with a different random assortment of stuff! Our guide summed it up, he said, "Cuba is Castro's
experiment with socialism (he didn't seem to realize that Cuba was actually communist / fascist), and socialism doesn't work." Sadly, what I came to recognize, was that many western nations during Covid and since (i.e. Canada, UK, Australia, NZ, and also parts of the USA) behaved and are still behaving in an authoritarian / fascist manner. So, it was an eye-opening trip all around!
On the home front... I'm just catching up. Monday Feb 19th is Hubby and My 30th Wedding Anniversary! (That was the impetus for the vacation.)
Good enough for now!
So, that's it for the updates... On with the show!

Four Leg BLOG: Too Much, Too Fast, Too Soon…
|
|
Do you have clients with canine athletes? Or perhaps clients who are athletes themselves? Have you come across the client that pushes their dog a little bit too much, too fast, too soon?
Chances are, you’ve met one or two of
these. Here’s the scenario. The dog come home from a cruciate surgery, for example. Things are as planned for the first week… then when you start to prescribe and allow for greater activity, things don’t progress as they should. They aren’t gaining muscle (as denoted by thigh circumference) or their weight bearing scores look less than what you would like to see (as denoted by a stance analyzer or two-scale
method). You might scratch your head at this and start asking more questions.
How long are you walking the dog for? How often are you doing the exercises I prescribed? What else are you doing? Can you show me? Ah ha! Continue reading -

Have You Checked it Out?
|
|
For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question
pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone! Until next time... Cheers! Laurie
