And A Four Leg Rehab Minute on Testing Your Laser
The life updates:
Well, I got a couple more deadlines out of the way! Yay!
Hubby and I went to our cottage on Saturday - a nice little get-away.
We also got Hubby's MRI scan results back - no changes in any of the tumours. So we are happy about that! We continue on with the supplements, Chinese herbal tea, energy healer, diet modifications, etc, etc, etc. We'll take it!
My province is lifting ALL Covid-19 restrictions as of July 1st, because over 70% of our population has had a 1st Covid shot. Not sure how I feel about that when it comes to in clinic. I think we'll mandate the mask for a wee bit longer... but as many of you know, we never stopped letting clients in. So the only change will be masks and whether or not we have a waiting room again or not. Time will tell... but it's nice to finally see the
light at the end of the tunnel (or so I hope!!)
Okay, that's about it! On with the show!

Laryngeal Paralysis, Lar-Par, LP, Geriatric Onset Laryngeal Paralysis, GOLPP... all refer to parts or the whole of a problem affecting not just the airway and ability for a dog to breath, but also a neurologic issue that affects dog's movement as well. Click to view some background information on GOLPP, rehab suggestions, and what I've been doing as a treatment for these dogs.

What do you think when you see Spondylosis in a dog?
|
|
This topic has come up in a few places recently, and I wanted to take some time to create a blog on the topic of Spondylosis. Is it something to worry about? Is it normal or abnormal? How do you treat it? Can you treat it? What does it mean? So many questions! Let’s dive in!
Firstly, let’s go the definition of Spondylosis Deformans in dogs!
Spondylosis Deformans is a condition that affects the vertebral bones of the spine and is characterized by the presence of bony spurs or osteophytes along the edges of the bones of the spine.1 It is boney bridging that occurs under the vertebral column and acts as a stabilizer or motion limiter to spinal movement.

I've put all of my exercises (and some of yours) onto a handy platform - Physiotec! It's a wonderful online resource for delivering home exercise / advice programs.
There are HUNDREDS of exercises FOURLEGEXERCISE.COM already! You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's
so much! Massage, Owner-friendly joint therapies, Exercises, Advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by / billed for separately, by... Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to
FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!
