Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had!
What's new?
Well, we decided to rent out our Cottage. Since taking over the ranch, we just don't get there very often. We love it when we do go and maybe in the future we'll use it again (i.e. if grandkids come along... waaaaay in the future), but for now, it might as well be used and appreciated!
So, we're in the process of moving, cleaning, and last minute fixing! Why not add to the busy-ness of life?? Short term crazy, but maybe less stress in the long run. Maybe...?? I hope so!
So, that's it for the updates... On with the show!!

Four Leg BLOG:
CONTINUING EDUCATION & COMPETENCE
|
|
I found a quote that I’d like to share.
“Be curious as a clinician. You can feel confident with your skills and the research, but strike the balance of being open and critical to new research and ideas. Be willing to be somebody different five years from now than you thought you would be.”
Here’s where I found it: https://evidenceinmotion.com/pt-elevated-cpgs-narrow-the-width-of-the-goalpost-derek-clewley-on-neck-pain-cpg/
Think about it! So much research comes out in a 5-year period. Our knowledge, skills, and attitudes simply cannot remain the same IF we engage in continual learning!
Think back to what you learned in school compared to what you know and how you practice today? (This only works if you didn’t graduate last week! Well, maybe it does!) I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I remember hearing that what schools teach us is 5 - 10 years behind evidenced research, and that clinical practice can be 10 - 20 years behind research. So, how can you improve your knowledge and skills?
Consume research!
(Hold onto that thought… I found a paper on the subject above. It’s 17 years on average!)

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
