What's new?
Happy Thanksgiving to Canada! As I type this, food is cooking, the house has been cleaned, and we are hosting a wee family gathering of 6 people. Keeping it casual... so instead of Turkey we are doing a brisket! Nom Nom Nom!
Knock on wood, there is no snow yet! But I had better get my garden hoses in before snow falls... which could be any day!
I spent all day Friday and likely most of this Monday cleaning the cottage that we are renting out. My arms are sore from all of the wiping and washing!
Covid is still stupid in my part of the world (not all of Canada, just my province and the one next door). Wearing my mask and keeping life dull has been working so far!
Did I ever tell you that for my 50th birthday I received a Speckled Park Heifer from my husband? (very pretty...) Well, she came up dry at preg-testing a couple of weeks ago, to which I exclaimed, "Worst 50th Birthday present ever!!!" So, I'm getting a replacement bred Speckled Park Heifer this weekend. Yay me!
I think that's it! Better get chopping vegetables!
So, that's it for the updates... !! On with the show...

Post-Op Cruciate Protocols
(is there a difference depending upon surgical technique?)
|
|
This is a question I have ben posed more than once, “how would your rehab protocol differ with a DeAngelis (extra-capsular) technique versus a TPLO procedure?” My short answer is, “It doesn’t”. However, I thought it might be helpful to go into the thought processing for how you could create a protocol for any procedure when one doesn’t exist.
So, when I evaluate a procedure and decide how to approach it from a rehab perspective, I first go to the question, what was done?

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
