CRYPTO IN 2023: Reforms, March pressures and a new financial world

In March, and as viewed from Earth, Pluto moves into Aquarius. 

For at least the last three centuries every Pluto ingress has coincided with major development in the banking industry. The most recent was in 2007/8 and coincided with the Global Financial Crash.

Major reforms are due as Saturn, - along with Pluto, makes ingress in March bringing reform and upheaval to the world of digital currencies and strength to decentralised exchanges.

If your question is 'are cryptos dead?' or 'will Bitcoin's price' recover, the answer to those questions is 'no' to the first and 'yes' to the second.

Key to the affirmative answer to the second question is what happens in Latin and South America: areas that are adopting these new currencies.

Anticipate too that younger generations who do not have natural resistance to what elders view as 'Emperor's New Clothes' will develop their interest in NFTs and other blockchain systems.

It is estimated that there will be in excess of 200 million new blockchain users in the next twelve months. This affirms the astrology. Jupiter crosses into Taurus (from May 17th) and meets with Uranus in 2024, indicating that the momentum gathered by these new financial instruments should be considerable.

Astro-History: the emergence of crypto and other digital currencies can be traced back to the Saturn-Uranus cycle that began in 1989  - though there are also links to the Uranus-Pluto cycle that began in the mid 1960s. Whichever cycle you use, the aspects of these cycles  are first call in astro-crypto forecasting.

A recent forecast by a crypto expert was that 2023 would prove a turning point provided that there was focus on the core values and ethos of the technology: freedom, trust and privacy. These are three key words associated with Aquarius.

The last phase of the Saturn-Uranus cycle is now complete, whilst Uranus and Pluto are slowly, slowly working their way to positive aspect (2025). After Pluto moves into Aquarius the drive to focus on those core values should bring increased value.

We have to negotiate two key dates in the first quarter of 2023: Uranus' station on January 23rd, followed by the anniversary of President Biden's Executive Order 14067 which coincides with Saturn's arrival in Pisces. It is not inconceivable that there will indeed be a strong move to a digital dollar. Resistance will likely be futile and add to growing unrest in the USA especially. Division - at so many levels - is set to increase.

BITCOIN

It is not unusual for the price of Bitcoin (the common example for cryptos) to rise at a New Moon (Jan 21st). To reach Aquarius the Moon must travel through Capricorn (favouring Bitcoin) so we should see upward price movement from Jan 19th.   

Before then Bitcoin will celebrate its 14th 'birthday'. It has now had a full year of being a teenager and is, as might be expected, challenging those in authority.

The 'good' news is that Saturn has now passed its natal Neptune (disillusion and loss) and won't return to that position for another three decades. 

Another major depressant has been Saturn's connecting to a nodal position. This comes to an end on January 14th. Though the Saturn effect can linger, it is to be hoped that soon after Uranus' turns direct on January 23rd, that there will be further gain after the slight rise the week befefore.

Teenagers generally respond to Uranus transits when they find their feet, align with peers and gather courage to do their own thing. Bitcoin will experience Uranus' effects from March. Though that should prove a tricky month, Bitcoin could yet astound and make gain later in 2023..

ETHUSD reached a low on November 21^st. That this coincided – to the day - with the start of the new Mercury-Venus cycle in Sagittarius is interesting. They reach another conjunction – this time in Capricorn and within orb of both conjoining Pluto on December 29^th – just a day after Mercury turns retrograde. There won’t be another conjunction until July 2023. The indicators are that there will be strong price movement on December 28^th/29^th 2022.

By then, heliocentric Mercury will have entered Taurus. This planet circles the Sun every 88 days. Though the sample is still small (we only have 7 years worth of data), it is clear that Mercury’s helio transit of this sign is not positive for ETHUSD.

It seems ‘safe’ then to forecast a pending low for Dec 28^th/29^th.

The price at the November intraday low linked to Jupiter’s position and entirely possible that the December 28^th figure will be similar – i.e. reach an intraday low of $1081.

Note that ETHUSD reached its low for 2022 in June as the Sun crossed the exact degree at which Mars stationed at the end of October. The high then was approx. $1660. Using a one degree per dollar price exchange, this reflects Uranus’ position. Mars returns to this degree in late March suggesting a vibrational upward pull.

However, in early March, Saturn moves into Pisces where it opposes ETH’s natal Venus – a transit indicating depression of price.

The next high then is more likely to occur just ahead of the February New Moon. A key date should be Friday Feb 17^th when the price should move higher. This forecast can be refined after Uranus joins the other planets in direct motion at the end of January.

The immediate transits are unfavourable as Jupiter crosses ETH’s south nodal position in early January 2022. This, together with both Mercury and Mars retrograde, does not bode well for the opening days of 2023. 

Long-term, ETH has a more promising chart than BTC. However, just as BTC endured loss as Saturn made contact with its Neptune position, so we should expect the same for ETH.  It is doubtful that ETH can experience major price increase until 2024. First the threat, and finally the introduction of regulations will surely affect all cryptos. The picture after Uranus moves to Gemini in 2025 is very, very different. As that planet moves to 120 degree with Pluto, the price should surge.

FINALLY 

There are now over 2000 crypto currencies in existence - and more to come in 2023. Those formed after Jupiter reaches 15 Taurus in 2024 should gain considerable strength.
