Hello, The
arrival of August is a reminder to fully enjoy the remaining days of summer! In New England our summer was cut short by about six weeks of rain from June through mid-July. The past few weeks have been much more summer-like, with the exception of periodic smoky skies from the Canadian wildfires.
Our flowers and herbs are thriving! Our geraniums are bursting with buds
and we’re experiencing a very nice season with our annuals and perennials. I’ve been deadheading buds daily and replacements continue to come. It’s a nice summer for cut flowers. We’ve enjoying a series of guests this summer too. It feels good as people are getting out and about, and traveling again.
Silver Lake is unusually warm with water temps in the 80s. This is probably due to all the rain we’ve had. One of our guests introduced me to the Merlin Bird ID App. It’s free and it
allows you to record bird songs. It identifies each bird by the chirps. We have a lot of birds and it’s quite fun to learn more about each species. Check it out. We begin and end the month with a full moon. The theme for the month is Joy. The area of your house to uplift is the center-right, the Children
and Joy gua. I recommend that you find something to feel happy about every day. Begin with the small things and easy situations. You may be surprised with how you can find joy in the moment, even when your life is filled with challenge after challenge. Be well and enjoy August! Peg |
