Unexamined fear is at the root of our personal suffering. It’s what makes us feel separate and alone. It creates a “me” in here who needs safety and a world out there we feel we can't trust.
Maybe we needed fear to protect us earlier on in our lives—and we honor that. But now there’s a movement toward letting ourselves be more fully open to life. Can you feel it?
Although it sounds paradoxical, avoiding fear only reinforces it. As we bring fear into conscious awareness, we’re poised to find freedom from it. We include its presence without it being the driver of our life. This is how we cultivate a
warm and friendly relationship with it.
By consciously opening space for fear, we feel its effects in the body and hear its cautious voice. The automatic programming begins to soften. We see clearly how it contracts us, and we notice new possibilities for stepping out of its shadow and into the light of the fullness of our being.
We choose limits or infinite possibility. Constriction or spaciousness. Fear or love. Practically speaking, how would that look for you?
When it feels right, begin to meet fear from a place within that holds everything with understanding and love. Feel the energy in your body as if you were holding a scared child (because you are). Hear the mental narrative in your mind, but don’t follow it.
Find the place in you that is itching to be expressed without limits…and give it some breathing room…
This is the truth of you, free and unconditioned, wanting to emerge and to be…
