The inner critic can be so harsh—have you noticed?
It calls you names, tells you you'll fail, and turns you away from the magnificent truth of your being.
And you’re left confused, dejected, and thinking happiness is just not for you in this lifetime.
Here’s the truth about the inner critic. It’s a conditioned thought pattern whose only job is to say, “No!” Really, it’s trying to protect you, but it does that by putting you down, squashing your dreams, and keeping you stuck in its sad story.
The inner critic has no access to wonder, delight, and the vast infinite space that’s overflowing with potential.
Yet, this is where you’re fully alive.
When the inner critic rears up, treat it with tough love. Say, “Hello, thank you for trying to protect me,” then turn away from its message.
It can be there, jabbering away in the background—blah, blah, blah—but you don’t have to listen to what it’s telling you. You pointedly refuse to let it be in charge.
Then you’re in the space of not knowing. You get to listen to the inner voice of truth and let it guide you, even if it feels risky. You get to explore what's naturally alive in you.
Just say "No" to the inner critic. It's one of the kindest things you can possibly do for yourself and everyone else.
