The effects of conditioned patterns lie deep in our bodies, and we unknowingly express them in the ways that we physically move in the world.
Do you find yourself hunched over, hiding from the world and yourself, feeling small and insignificant?
Do you walk leaning forward, always ahead of yourself, hurrying on to the next thing, ignoring what’s right here around you?
I’d been meeting with Julie for a while, and she was beginning to experience the freedom that comes from shedding limiting beliefs. She became much less interested in her own and other people’s dramas, and she was not nearly as anxious as she used to be.
It had been a journey for her, but now she was finding it much easier to come home to herself, her true nature beyond any ideas or stories. And she was ready to show up in the world with this new sense of confidence and ease.
When I noticed Julie curling into herself again, I asked her how she would arrange her body if she weren’t caught in her old ways of thinking.
Immediately, she took a deep and conscious breath, the shoulders moved down and back, the spine straightened, and she appeared relaxed, light, and fully here. She smiled.

What would it be like to move in the world with this ease and openness?
When we’re not aware of the emotions and thought patterns that arise in us, they take over our whole way of being. They limit how we view ourselves, others, and the world and the choices we make in life. And these limitations show in how we physically carry ourselves.
When awareness dawns, we start to see clearly how these patterns operate. And we know another way is possible.
Imagine being the consciousness that was never touched by any pain. And here you are in human form, open, empty, and free. How do you stand? How do you carry your body?
