Business Opportunity With Crowds Of Customers

We just returned from a family vacation to sunny California. We visited some friends in Long Beach, and also took a day to visit Universal Studios in Hollywood.

I have always wanted to go to Universal since I was a kid. (I love movies)

Usually on prior trips to Florida or California, we would visit the Disney properties, and stay there the entire time. All the while, I would see pamphlets and marketing materials for Universal Studios, and desperately wanted to go.

Understandably, the Disney visit took up most of the budget and time! (boy, it's expensive)

This recent trip, however, we spent the whole day on the Universal property. It was really neat ... they had of course most of the rides and activities focused around their recent entertainment franchises, like Harry Potter and Fast and Furious.

However, they paid some homage to the classics like Jaws and the Alfred Hitchcock movies. Which I loved.

My big surprise of the day was the Waterworld movie live action production. Even though the movie Waterworld was a big budget box office disaster, Universal's Waterworld show was incredible! It's almost worth the visit just to see that! Makes me want to watch the movie Waterworld again!

The business side of me was fascinated with their business model: streams of people, day after day. There were thousands and thousands of people, jostling each other, spilling their butter beers (it's a Harry Potter thing), and seeing all the shows and rides.

And then, the next day, there are more and more steady streams of people that show up! The streams of people just keep coming!

Kinda reminds me of a business for sale that my colleague told me about -- there are streams of trucks that pull in (they even wait in line), in order to fill up with water for the oilfield.

Every day, truck after truck, just like the people streaming into Universal Studios.

Anyway, here's her recent email to me on this business for sale:

"Located off Hwy 302 in Kermit Tx (Winkler County), sits a 38 acre land parcel being used for a Water Station. Oil companies and Frac Sand Producers in the area line up to buy fresh water 24/7. The owners generate $80K-$100K of gross profits per month and $27K of that is generated from the leases they have on the offices and shop. Selling Price is $7,500,000 and Seller Financing is available. Includes all the land, 4 structures, 4 wells, and the current water consumers/ buyers/ clients. Leases on the buildings are month to month, however, the new owner can choose to renew the leases or occupy the buildings themselves. One office alone generates $13,500 per month in rent. Owners are too busy to run the business anymore even though it’s a simple business with extremely low overhead. They are currently drilling another commercial well which will add even more profits to the business. As of right now, two commercial wells and a regular well
are on the property. There are 10 acres of undeveloped land that would be perfect to develop a truck stop as another one is greatly needed in the area. If you are in the oil / gas / frac sand / trucking business, you will want to look further into this property/business. Although I’m a Real Estate Broker, this listing will not go on MLS as it will be contracted very quickly. Buyer Agents are welcome."
