Great Shift Blog #36 Signs that the Shift is Happening (2): Women Speak Truth

Dear fellow travelers,
This second blog on signs that the Great Shift's energetic changes are filtering down to the physical plane as reflected in the mainstream media focuses on a sea change
that has taken place as more and more women speak truth to power. Not only are they speaking out, they are being heard. Courageous women throughout history have spoken out and challenged subjugation of women by men. More often than not they have either been vilified or ignored. A tipping point happened in early October, 2017 when the Hollywood produced Harvey Weinstein was fired by the company he founded after multiple women stepped forward and accused him of rape and
sexual assault. The New York Times noted (article discussed below): In what appears to be a seismic shift in what behavior is tolerated in the workplace, a cascade of high-profile men, many in the entertainment and news media industries, have since been fired or forced to resign after accusations of sexual misconduct that ranged from inappropriate comments to rape.
The seismic shift has taken place in more than just the entertainment and news media industries, but politics as well. Pictured above are three Time magazine cover stories that have come out in the last three months. Brief summaries of the NYT article and these cover stories speak for themselves: - After Weinstein: 71 Men Accused of Sexual Misconduct and Their Fall From Power. This article in the NYT first came out November 10, 2017 and listed some 30 men. The latest update on February 8, 2018 more than doubles the number in the original article. In addition to the 71 men listed as having been fired or forced to resign, an additional 28 men are listed as having
experienced fallout short of resignation, such as suspension. That 99 men with high public profiles have been held accountable for their behavior in such a short time is astounding to me. I also find it remarkable that so many (39.4%) have expressed regret and apologized in some way.
- Time Person of the Year issue, December 18, 2017: The Silence Breakers: The voices that launched a movement.
Rather than feature a single person as Time usually does in it's year-end person-of-the-year issue 61 people--59 women and 2 men--who spoke out about sexual harassment were featured.
- Time cover story, January 29, 2018: The Avengers: First they marched, now they're running for office. The feature article notes: A record number of women are running for office for the first time, and they are poised to
transform U.S. politics.
- Time cover stories, March 12, 2018: Lights, Camera. Power: How women are redirecting Hollywood...and America. The title of the lead article in this issue says it well: First, the Movies, Now the World: How corrupt, craven Hollywood found its conscience.
Other positive things I'm seeing filtering
into the mainstream media are moving along a bit more slowly, so I'm not sure when the next blog in this particularly series will come out. Even so, it's an amazing time to be alive on planet Earth!
