Nebula's Latest Grow Journal
by Nebula Haze

Today I'm sharing my latest grow journal with you! Earlier this year I germinated an Original Amnesia plant from Dinafem in a bubbleponics setup under a small 250W HPS grow light. Four months later I ended up yielding more than 6 ounces of dense, sticky buds from this one plant!

Many of you have asked me for more specific step-by-step instructions on exactly how I train my cannabis plants so they grow this way.

So in this grow journal I share the six quick steps it took to train this plant (with lots of pictures so you can follow along with your own plant)!

As you may know, plant training is basically a set of techniques to increase yields indoors. Plants are naturally more optimized to grow in the sun, and plant training can be used to create a cannabis plant that is more efficiently shaped to produce buds indoors, even under small grow lights. I know 6 ounces is going to last me a long time!

Here's a quick snapshot of the grow:
Original Amnesia by Dinafem
Number of Plants: 1
Yield: 175.9 g (6.2 oz)
Grow Light: 250W HPS
Total Cost of Electricity:
$278 ($45/ounce or $1.60/gram)

This was calculated with our local electricity price of $0.37/kWh. Keep in mind that this total of $278 includes electricity for lights, an air pump, water pump, and fans. I didn't have to buy anything new for this grow, but if you're a grower starting from scratch it would have cost $881 ($142/ounce) to do this grow, including the full cost of the setup, seeds, and the cost of electricity

In this grow journal I explain how to use 6 steps to take your plant from this...
To this...
To this!
With this training technique I really didn't have to do anything after the first 6 weeks... I just waited until harvest!

The buds were dense, skunky and sticky!
This plant was easy to grow and yielded well. I barely had to do anything to keep it happy, and it was very forgiving when I made mistakes!
Want to Copy This Grow?

In the full grow journal you can see step-by-step how I got these results. If you want to follow along with the exact same setup, you can! You need about $600 (sans electricity) to get the WHOLE setup, including seeds, but as you saw from this journal you can easily recoup that cost in savings on your first grow if you just follow my instructions!
I used a hydroponic setup for this grow, but you can actually do the exact same thing in coco coir or soil! The growing medium doesn't matter. Besides watering the plants instead of changing the reservoir, everything works almost exactly the same. In fact my last grow in this setup used coco coir!

Look Who's Talking!

"Your site is still my number one resource for all the info on this topic. You've got a way with words, compress information without diluting it and make the endeavour fun. Great.

I'm now a few days away from harvesting as far as I can tell:
It's been so much fun and I have gained a new hobby in the way. I'll move to a new home in November, really rural and without neighbours at all. So I will continue this journey with an indoor grow. I actually just won a hundred euro gift coupon from Sensi for a review on the strain I used, so I already ordered three seeds each of feminized Jack Flash #5 and Northern Lights #5 x Haze. Yippey.

I decided to try to build a bubbleponics system like Sirius describes. I am a techy guy and plan to tinker with some automation on RasPi/Arduino boards, too. Your guide on this approach just seems so wonderfully different and the resulting harvests look so amazing, I want to try that myself. Neither space nor money is a real issue by then (well, to a point)‎, so I am going to just try it.

Things are looking up when it comes to marijuana in Germany, actually. The green revolution stateside just cannot be ignored I guess. Already made a pact with some high school friends to start a plantation right away once it is legal. If that works out and I'm the tech guy for a big ganja farm one day, I'll be sure to invite you to the old world to thank you for being such massive help on the way to my first successful grow :)

Best wishes to you two from the other end of the earth,
P

Sirius Fourside:

Sirius Fourside is a hobbyist grower who has gained the bulk of his experience growing in water as a medium(deep water culture, bubbleponics).

"Growing cannabis is a relaxing hobby in and of itself, but it also saves you money and keeps you from having to deal with shady characters. Cannabis is much easier to grow than people give it credit for, and growing in water doesn't increase the difficulty much, if any. But whether you want to grow in water, coco, or a different medium, we'll show you how easy it can be!"
