Good wishes to all who celebrate around this time of year! I don't know about you but I just can't believe that it's already close to the end of 2016, and by the next newsletter it will be 2017!

One of our holiday traditions at GWE is to do a "Reader Pics" issue right around the end of December. We want to thank everyone who reads our newsletter and sends in pictures, as well as the wonderful people in our forum who have been posting some incredible photographs!

Without further ado, here's a gallery of some of our reader's fabulous pictures!

I had to start today's gallery with this holiday-themed picture sent to us by OldSkinflint!

All hail Nebulous and Sirius Foresight, purveyors of truth and good vibrations; Merry, Merry Christmas!! Amnesia, 65 days, photo-forced-12 hours @ 30 days, LITHA trimming method (leave it the heck alone)

This plant is dreaming of a sunny Christmas...

Blooming week 3 in the middle of winter with natural sunlight supplemented with a 6500K T5 grow light!

This picture by Tersky shows a baby cannabis plant right as it's opening its first leaves.

New life!

**Read following like chorus of "Call me Maybe"**

Hey NebulaHaze and SiriusFourside, this is crazy! You helped me tons!

Here is my baby!
Ok had to. Thanks guys! Seriously! I appreciate all the hard work you guys have done! Happy holidays!

I love how you can really see the roots of the seedlings in these pictures by Royal Nugs! You never get to see roots from this perspective!
It really shows you how quickly the roots of a young seedling can start wrapping around the edges of a solo cup! Royal Nugs had to transplant these seedlings to bigger containers not long after!

The following picture by Karlee shows a juvenile DWC (bubbleponics) plant! As a fellow bubblehead, this is a beautiful plant!

I thought the following plant training sequence by grower rockman gives a nice example of how grower train plants to grow wide and flat instead of tall and narrow :)

My fatherly pride is showing. Here's my second grow of Bubblelicious Auto from Nirvana, 13 days from sprouting, and grown in Kind/Ocean Forest soil. Under 3 100 watt CFLs right now...many more coming later. Just love the way a cannabis sprout develops and acquires each node! Such a lovely symmetry also! 🌱 As expected I'm so looking forward to this adventure,. I'm sure you all understand that feeling! 🙌
This is the plant on day 15, right  before the plant was topped (top of the main stalk was removed)! Topping the plant when it's young will increase the number of colas/bud sites, but it's often recommended in the growing community to avoid topping an auto-flowering plant due to the chance of stunting. However, when done right, like with this auto-flowering plant, topping can be used to increase yields!

19 days from sprouting, and 3 days from topping. I'm loving the Kind/Ocean Forest soil so far! I've just used distilled water, and the result has been such healthy color and growth. I'll soon use LST and light defoliation to allow the 8 growing points to spread out and become the only colas. So exciting! 😊🌿
Started training and light defoliation yesterday (first photo), and in 24 hours the second pic is how she looks.
These plants are amazing at how they can quickly respond to our manipulation!! 🙌

Speaking of topping and training, check out this manifolded plant by grower rwdyredhead!

Here's a well-executed example of a ScrOG (Screen of Green) in action by LuckyAcres

Here's what those plants look like under the net (and with the LEDs turned on!)

The following pictures feature a spectacular auto-flowering plant (Auto Low Ryder #2) that was less than a foot tall at harvest! This strain only takes about two months to mature, which is the fastest time-to-harvest I've heard for any strain! The seed was planted in late October and harvested mid-December! The yield on such a small plant in such a short time is impressive! Check out the whole journal here!
Check out the base after harvest! The plant had 27 tops in all and was defoliated constantly throughout the grow. Here's one of the main colas:
The grower Green75 has a 315 LEC, a type of grow light with a beautiful spectrum for viewing plants. LEC lights also produce UV rays which may possibly increase THC levels!

He has been conducting and documenting experiments with his plants including EXTREME defoliation, and the results speak for themselves!

Trophy Pic of the Week!

I wouldn't have this, 4 mason jars full, if it weren't for the GWE website and this forum. My first grow was a success and next grow will be even better. THANKS AGAIN!

    Sirius Fourside:

Sirius Fourside is a hobbyist grower who has gained the bulk of his experience growing in water as a medium (deep water culture, bubbleponics).

"Growing cannabis is a relaxing hobby in and of itself, but it also saves you money and keeps you from having to deal with shady characters. Cannabis is much easier to grow than people give it credit for, and growing in water doesn't increase the difficulty much, if any. But whether you want to grow in water, coco, or a different medium, we'll show you how easy it can be!"
