Dear Fellow Grower,
In today's issue... - Are you looking for a safe and stealthy way to vent hot air from your grow room without letting any smells escape?
- One of the easiest and quickest ways to quickly create a perfect grow environment indoors is to use a grow tent, and as an added bonus, these hook up perfectly to an exhaust system.
- Check out this week's trophy pic of the week, which features an incredible timelapse in the flowering stage. If you like what you see, check out the full grow journal on our

Set Up a Stealthy Exhaust System by Nebula Haze |
The principle for all exhaust systems is the same. Vent hot air out with a fan, and make sure you have an intake hole so fresh cool air can get in.
The carbon filter (to scrub smells) isn’t needed in all setups since some people don't need to cover up smells, but
honestly it's always a good idea. Some cannabis plants are insanely smelly! Here’s a general idea of how an exhaust system works:
|
The problem is most people want to exhaust hot air without anyone being able to tell from the outside.
Here are some ideas for setting up a stealthy exhaust in a window which
looks completely normal from outside, while still allowing air to pass through easily.
Fake window AC unit - Use a window kit to disguise the
exhaust from a grow area. This method takes advantage of the fact that portable air conditioners come with a special window kit that fits into most windows and is meant to be unobtrusive from the outside.
A portable AC usually looks something like this. Notice that the window fitting doesn't look particularly notable.
You can get a window kit by itself without the AC, so you can hook it up to
your exhaust! Wicker Blinds to Hide Exhaust
Learn how to make a stealthy "secret window" exhaust system like this below...
Having trouble finding a cheap & easy way to exhaust hot air from your grow tent? I was able to to create an awesome exhaust system for about $45 (just add your fan).
This method takes
advantage of the fact that wicker blinds do not allow anyone to see in, but they do allow air to pass in and out.
Wicker blinds offer privacy but still allows air to pass through Homemade Fake Window
Sent in by a reader named Ray. Love this idea!
The top hole is to vent out hot air, and the bottom hole is going to be the intake hole. After adding curtains, it's starting to come together From the outside you would never know it was anything but a typical window! I hope that gave you some ideas! Interested in a Grow Tent? |
Grow tents are designed to keep things simple for hobbyist cannabis growers. As convenient as grow tents are, they're not designed for huge marijuana grow operations! But for someone who wants up to ~30 oz per harvest, a grow tent may
be the best way to go!

doesn't increase the difficulty much, if any. But whether you want to grow in water, coco, or a different medium, we'll show you how easy it can be!"
