Aphids live under leaves & look different depending on their stage of life. The thin white bugs in these pictures are aphid nymphs.
These bugs that look like barnacles and stick to the plant on stems and underneath leaves. They come in many different colors and forms, but the main clue you're dealing with scale insects is they don't move after they've settled in.
These mites are so small you will likely never see them even with a magnifier. However, you can tell your plant has been infected because your new leaves become blistered, twisted and glossy. Buds may turn brown. Broad mites are often mistaken for other problems like nutrient deficiencies, heat stress or pH problems.
Caterpillars and inchworms come in many forms, from tiny and green to big and fuzzy. Caterpillars chew holes in the leaves and you'll also see little black specks from their droppings.
“Regular” crickets munch on your leaves.
Mole crickets tunnel under your plants and disturb their roots
Fungus gnats look like tiny dark flies buzzing around the soil.
These seemingly harmless garden creatures happily eat your cannabis leaves!
These bugs come in many colors as adults! Their young make clusters of spots on your leaves where they’ve sucked out all the sap.
Leaf miners are larva that actually live inside your leaves and tunnel through them to eat!
These tiny white bugs look “hairy” and are found crawling on leaves and buds. They leave white patches all over.
Each species looks quite a bit different as an adult. As youngsters, they create white and fuzzy patches that look like cotton on their butts and on your plants.
Examples of different planthopper species
Russet mites are microscopic. They live in the the crevices of leaves, stems or buds, causing droopy unhealthy plants. Leaves often curl up at the edges (similar to symptoms of heat stress).
Slugs and snails usually come out at night, leaving holes in leaves with scalloped edges from their individual bite marks. They also leave slime trails on leaves and on the ground.
Spider mites are tiny bugs that leave small white speckles all over your leaves. You may also see webbing.
Thrips leave irregular bronze or silver marks. You rarely see the fast-moving adults, but their young look like tiny worms and hang out on your leaves.
Whiteflies look like tiny white moths. This picture shows both the adults and round whitefly nymphs.

These beetles were found on a plant in Vermont, USA.
This infestation inside the stalk of a cannabis plant was seen in Washington, USA. The bugs look like flies. But did the flies nest here or did some predator like a wasp put them here for storage?
