Issue #466 - Sunday, March 21, 2021
Dear Fellow Grower,
In today's issue...
- We've showed you the old-school way to clone. We've showed you the easiest way to make clones (simply putting them in a cup of water). Today, we're going to show you how to take advantage of the next evolution in easy cloning... an aero cloner. The names of the cloners vary, but by the end of this article, you'll be able to use them all!
- Get the supplies needed to start aero cloning today!
- You already know we've got some good trophy pics as per usual. But today we have a testimonial that started a bit of a discussion. Check it out below and email us back to weigh in on the subject if you have an opinion! This is just a discussion, so there's no wrong answers as long as we all remain civil, courteous cannabis cultivators.

How to Make Clones with an Aero Cloner 🌴➕💦=🌴🌴🌴😲
|

Cloning is a way to quickly create a bunch of “free” cannabis plants. The main idea behind cloning is to cut off a piece of a specific plant then force that piece or “cutting” to grow roots. At that point, you have a new cannabis plant that’s essentially an identical copy of the “mother”
plant. That means that clones will have similar growth patterns, bud appearance, yield potential, THC levels, etc. at the plant they were cut from. If you’ve got a great plant or outstanding genetics, take clones to capture that magic for your next grow.
A “clone” is when a piece of a plant grows its own roots. The new plant is a small but otherwise identical copy of the parent plant.
Once you have roots, plant in a container and start growing. Clones tend to grow faster than a seedling of similar size.
The simplest way to create cannabis clones is to cut off the end of a branch about 7″ long and stick the cutting in a glass of water until it grows roots. The downside to this method
is that clones take up to 6 weeks before they grow roots (each cutting is different).
So what’s the fastest way to make a bunch of clones that are all ready at the same time? In many cases, the answer may be an aeroponic cloner.
Cannabis cuttings in a hydroponic system known as an aeroponic cloner (“aero cloner”) typically create roots within 14 days
Here’s a look under the hood. An aero cloner sprays mist around the bottom stem of cuttings. This stimulates roots to grow faster than the cup
cloning method.
If you don’t move plants to their own containers, the roots can go crazy in a system like this.
Ready to get started? Today’s tutorial will show you how to get roots quickly in an aero cloner!
What do you need to start aerocloning?

If you're ready to take clones, here's everything you need to follow this tutorial:
- Mother plant (with stems at least 7″ long)
- Scissors
- Aero Cloner (either pre-made or DIY)
- Cup of water (to hold cuttings before being put in the cloner)
- (Optional) Cloning Powder and/or Cloning Gel

We used the TurboKlone Aero Cloner in this tutorial, but most aero cloners are used similarly

"I always enjoy reading your articles (someday I’ll get to grow weed.) The opportunity to grow weed is very special. Not all states that have legalized weed allow for individuals to grow it.
With that in mind I would implore you to be more conscientious of the LONG, hard fight to end the evil laws that prohibit cannabis. Please tone down the criticism of prices paid in dispensaries - it is part of the price of freedom.
I love what you’re doing and specifically your newsletter. Keep up the great work!"

Thanks for writing in; I'm glad you enjoy the newsletter!
I understand why you would say that, but I disagree. We lose power by staying silent as businesses and governments artificially inflate prices to make weed more profitable for our new dealers.
Paying $300/ounce for an herb that costs $20/ounce to grow is unaffordable and unjust. That money isn't going to people hurt by the drug war (which I would actually support). It's flowing directly into the coffers of governments and big businesses after they jailed and cast aside the people who started the industry.
Many dispensaries and corporations (like MedMen) specifically lobby local governments to ban home growing so that everyone has to buy weed from them. For example, in Washington, it's legal to buy weed but you'll get years in prison for growing it. New Jersey legalized weed this month for businesses, but home growing still sends you to jail. New York seems on the cusp to legalize weed for businesses, but the governor's
plan still criminalizes adults that grow at home.
The goal of growers/smokers shouldn't be to appease governments or companies, it should be to make them heed the will of the people.
I can guarantee this: Trying to stay on the good side of dispensaries won't help lower their prices. They're already trying to snuff out competition and raise their prices even more. If we stay silent, what incentive do they have to do otherwise?

"Just wanted to say a hello and thanks for doing what you do. Been reading your website for over a year and the wonderful forum as well. On my 2nd indoor grow and getting my greenhouse ready for season #2. I grew over 3 lbs last year between 5 plants for my first time. Learned a lot. I was really writing because I just made bubble hash for the first time following your article and using about 150
grams of trim and 40 grams of OG Kush. Got 25 grams out of my work. Pretty amazing stuff. Love the weekly e-mail too. Thanks again."
~Andrew
Congratulations on the harvest! If you haven't decided what to do with all that trim yet, I would suggest Bubble Hash! ~Sirius
"Love the newsletter, use the archives frequently. Most helpful. And your quotations are a bonus, great."

Thanks! I actually have a lot of fun picking out the quotes every week. 😊 ~Sirius

"I've never seen anything like this every!! Can someone please tell me what this is and what causes it. Need more info thank you!!"
~Panama Red
This is a common mutation/trait and it's nothing to worry about. This is a wonderful example of leaves with extra fingers, though!

"U guys are the absolute best!!! Thank you for all of ur beautiful knowledge! This was my first bubbleponics set up . I followed every step. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!"
~Stevesweeds
Well done! You definitely did way better than my first attempt at bubbleponics. ~Sirius
