Issue #494 - Sunday, October 3, 2021
Dear Fellow Grower,
In today's issue...
- What if you could give your cannabis plant a direct command to grow in a more orderly fashion? Why you're at it, tell it grow more wee, am I right? Manifolding is essentially that; making your plant more orderly, efficient and bulky. Of course, you'll have to help a little since cannabis can't understand speech...yet.
- We've got a few more seed sources recommendation (one in California, and one in Canada), plus learn the difference between tan and tiger stripe cannabis seeds!
- Purple plants and a sea of trichomes. Yeah, it's your typical fantastic Sunday in the "Trophy Pics" section. Check it out yourself and feel the marijuana magic!
On a side note: You all have sent in sooo many great pictures that we'll be doing a Trophy Picture episode next week. Hit the reply button and send us your pictures for a chance to be featured. Look for your pictures having a way more prominent position in the newsletter!

Nebula’s Easy Manifold
(Cannabis “Main-Lining” Tutorial)

I trained this plant according to this tutorial and was able to harvest 6.2 ounces on a single 2 foot tall plant!

The cannabis “main-lining” grow technique is the process of building a “manifold” on a cannabis seedling to form bigger buds and increase yields in the flowering stage. It was originally described by a talented marijuana grower named Nugbuckets who gave it the name main-lining. Nugbuckets generously gave us permission to share his manifolding weed growing technique on GrowWeedEasy.com.
A “manifold” means all branches come from a single point at the base of the plant. This happens when the plant’s main stem is split in two at a young age (full instructions below).
This results is an orderly plant with multiple thick, long buds in the flowering stage.
Here’s that plant at harvest with arm-sized buds (grown under a small 250W grow light!)
You can barely see my hand under there
Main-lining vs Manifolding – They are exactly the same thing, just two words for building a cannabis manifold. I call it manifolding, but many growers use the word “main-lining” since that is what Nugbuckets originally called this training technique. However,
the term main-lining can mean something unsavory, so I personally choose to use the term “manifolding”.
Original example of marijuana manifolding / mainlining by Nugbuckets
No matter what you call it, we experimented with his technique for several years and over time we slightly altered the original manifolding process. This modification increases yields and saves time (you get to harvest sooner), but at its core the idea is the
same.
The key is....
On the Search for Seeds...
|
Many of you have written in lately with questions about seed banks. Where can you get American genetics? Which seed source ships the fastest? Do we know of any reputable seed banks in Canada or Australia?
We've heard you loud and clear, and have been on the search for more reputable seed banks to add to our trusted seed sources page. We'd like to make a comprehensive list of seed sources based on the experiences of our readers. That way you can get access to whatever genetics catches your fancy.

A germinating seed is magical
First, we'd like to mention California-based ILGM (which is short for I Love Growing Marijuana). This website has been around for a while and they have been getting accolades for their Gold Leaf strain (they also offer an auto-flowering version) and their ultra-potent (26% THC) version of Gorilla Glue.
What have been your experiences with ILGM? Hit the reply button and let us know!
Although I have experience with ILGM, this next seed bank has come highly recommended but I haven't ordered from them yet. They're called Quebec Cannabis Seeds and are
located in Canada. I know many Canadians have been looking for a local seed source and this one is notable for their in-house strains like their version of Candy Kush and Quebec Blue.
Do you have any experience with Quebec Cannabis Seeds (good or bad)? If so, please reply to this email and let us know what you think!
We're still looking for a trustworthy seed bank on the East Coast of the US (for example Maine), Australia, South Africa, and/or South America.
If there's a seed bank you love (or hate), please reply to this email and let us know! Your experience helps improve the options for everyone :)
Did you know? Cannabis seeds are often dark brown with black tiger stripes, but this coloring is only a coating. If the coating is rubbed off (or naturally gets stripped off during seed release), the seeds are tan underneath with a mosaic
pattern. The color has nothing to do with the health of the seed. Both of the seeds pictured above are viable, healthy cannabis seeds.

"Pictures of my trichomes. Looking for milky or amber color to them to see if it's time to harvest."
~613 Triple C {Capital City ChronixXx}
I totally got lost in this forest. The plan was to choose one or two of these pics, but somehow they all got posted. 🤷♂️ ~Sirius
"100% organic cannabis grown on the small island of Guam. Grown under 600w led strips with only organic dry amendments in Promix. Where America's day begins. Love cannabis but hate the local prices, here an oz of quality herb can go as high as $800 on the black market so I prefer to
grow my own medicine."
~Jrtt1214
Wow, $800 an oz makes San Diego look like child's play! I'm glad we can help make things a bit cheaper. ~Sirius

Watch out for scams online!
Received a "too good to be true" message on social media?
Remember, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Especially on the internet.
I'd just like to take a moment to warn our readers about social media seed scams. People don't deserve to lose their money to soulless scammers. If it's happened to you, you're not alone.
What to watch out for: Be on high alert if someone contacts you, unsolicited, to sell you seeds. Legitimate companies will not contact you first via private message. They wait for you to contact them.
Where should you go for seeds?
Contact the seed breeder through their official social media account or check out their website for more information. Look for a newsletter signup because many breeders do "seed drops" through email only.
Otherwise...

Sirius Fourside:
Sirius Fourside is a hobbyist grower who has gained the bulk of his experience growing in water as a medium (deep water culture, bubbleponics).
"Growing cannabis can be a relaxing hobby in and of itself, but it also saves you money and keeps you from having to deal with shady characters. Cannabis is much easier to grow than people give it credit for, and growing in water doesn't increase the difficulty much, if any. But whether you want to grow in water, coco, or a different medium, we'll show you how easy it can be!"
