actionable marketing guide

Dear ,

I hope you’re doing well now that we’re 6 weeks into 2015.

This week is marketer’s dream. It’s a rare event that there’s 1 holiday around which you can create a promotion or content. This week there are 3 holidays – at least in the northern US.
  • Thursday, February 12 – Lincoln’s Birthday. Although in most of the US, it’s been changed to President’s Day (celebrated Monday, February 16, often with sales.) In my mother’s neighborhood, they still celebrate with no garbage collection. (I guess that’s a celebration of sorts.)
  • Friday, February 13 – Great for content.  Round up 13 of your favorite tips (unless you have Triskaidekaphobia.  For example: Blogging Tips To Avoid Triskaidekaphobia
  • Saturday, February 14 – Valentine’s Day. It’s great time to show your customers and readers how much you love them.  For example: 14 Blogs We Love.

What does this mean for you as a marketer?

Look at your calendar to make sure that you’ve filled in the relevant holiday and promotions for your business. This should inform both your editorial calendar and your social sharing calendar.

Happy marketing,
Heidi
