Hello my friend!
I am typing this message to you today from Lexington, Kentucky. Such a beautiful area for appreciating horses and amazing horse facilities!
Best Horse Practices Summit is what caused me to travel here. Surely, you know what it takes to arrange things to be able to travel. So many things to have to put in place to have everyone still at home well cared for.
All of the arranging and planning was well worth the effort. This is a fabulous event. Great presenters and an audience of people who are interested in learning about the best ways to care for horses. Being around people that have such a strong and similar passion is refreshing, just to start the list.
Being around people that understand it's important to "be" around our horses is validating and encouraging. Sometimes you don't know how valuable something is until you either experience it, or don't.
You might feel at times that you swimming upstream with how you want to interact with horses, and how you view them. I get that! In order to connect essence to essence, we have to build enough trust with our horses that they will engage with us and be vulnerable. We have to listen to them.
Unfortunately, this is still not a widely accepted viewpoint in the horse world. Those of us with this viewpoint need to stick together. Strength in numbers, right?
The more that we connect with the essence of horses, the more they open us up to ours. It's a truly beautiful adventure. This beautiful journey can offer some bumps and twists, however. No way to avoid self-growth.
I get it. Sometimes the idea of self-growth is off-putting. Being around supportive, encouraging people can allow for much more ease on the journey. This summit has reinforced this belief. So many wonderful people.
Wherever you are on your journey, I hope that you are able to find your tribe. Find some supportive people that allow you to shine and share your brilliance. That is what the horses and I wish for you, and why I decided to send you an impromptu email at lunch break.
Keep going. Whatever burns in your heart, keep following that. It's there for a reason.
Because of being reminded of how valuable a supportive community is, I'm putting something together! Still working out the details, but it will consist of weekly zoom calls to connect and teach about Inner Journey Horsemanship. A place to talk about building trust and developing partnerships with our horses. If you're interested in knowing more before the official launch date, reply to this email, and I'll fill you in.
Wishing you brightness,
Kim and the Hidden Promise Horses
