To say I was panicking would be an understatement.
You see, Plantain has been a core plant in my world since I discovered herbalism 30 years ago.
It's always lived where I lived.
I moved to this property in the dead of winter so I had no idea what plants were growing here.
But I could swear that Plantain grows
here.
I anxiously looked for it over the past month as Speedwell, then Dandelion, then Chickweed, then Ground Ivy, then Violet appeared.
They all not only had emerged but were all blooming.
AND NOT A SINGLE PLANTAIN PLANT TO BE FOUND.
And then, finally, two days ago, I saw it!
A wee single Plantain popping up.
And I walked everywhere - eyes
glued to the ground - and saw another.
And another.
And another.
An audible sigh of relief.
Yes! Plantain DOES indeed grow here.
Crisis averted.
Why am I so hyped that it grows in my backyard?
